Founded in 1946, QuarterFour has proudly served Lubbock and the surrounding communities for nearly 80 years. Originally established as The Sport Center, the business became Cardinal’s Sport Center in 1969 after its acquisition by Johnny Cardinal. From that point forward, the company remained family-owned and operated for three generations, building a lasting reputation for quality products and exceptional customer service.
As the business continued to grow, Cardinal’s expanded with a flagship Lubbock location in 2011, followed by the opening of a Plano, Texas location. In 2018, ownership transitioned to longtime General Manager Brad Wyatt, continuing the company’s strong local leadership and community-focused values. In 2024, the business officially rebranded as QuarterFour, marking a new chapter while honoring the legacy that shaped it.
Today, QuarterFour remains locally owned and deeply connected to the community through customer service, local youth and school sponsorships, and a continued commitment to serving West Texas. While the company has evolved over the decades, its mission remains the same: providing premium lifestyle apparel, sporting goods, Texas Tech apparel, and outstanding customer service for every customer who walks through the door.
